The Sycamores scored in all but three innings, putting a 10-run hurting on the Wolverines. The Wolverines were shut down offensively as five USF pitchers were used in the victory. Baseball team gears up for 2017 season

Photo by David Roura The 2016 baseball season was a huge success as the Wolverines won the Western Athletic Conference Tournament, and with it a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Despite many new faces, this year’s team looks to reload and prove that it is a legitimate contender to repeat for the conference championship. One of the first things that jumps out about this ball club is the youth and number of new personnel. Of the 34 players on the roster, 17 are newcomers, including 10 true freshmen. Baseball: UVU claims WAC title with shutout win over Seattle U

MESA, Ariz.— The UVU baseball team shut out the Seattle U Redhawks 4-0 to claim their first-ever WAC Baseball Championship behind seven-plus innings of work from starter Kaden Schmitt. Greyson Bogden led UVU from the plate going 4-for-4 on the night with an RBI in the top of the fifth that drove in Zac Willis to cap a three-run inning. With the win, UVU improved to 73-21 on the season and clinched an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.
