UVU picked up three additional wins while dropping one in recent matchups with USU, Texas-Pan American, ISU and SUU.

On Oct. 13 the Wolverines took on in-state rival USU in a five set match. The Aggies built some substantial leads throughout play that allowed them to run away with the match.  Despite the loss, UVU was still able to put up big numbers.

Junior outside hitter Kayli Broadbent put down 23 kills while Chelsey Garfield added nine, Erica Nish and senior outside hitter Camie Manwill each added eight kills of their own.

Senior Allyce Jones finished with 35 digs tying her season high, Chelsea Fa’alogo gave a big 53 assists and Jaicee Kuresa had a career high eight block assists.

Two nights later on Oct. 15 UVU began another winning streak taking on GWC opponent Texas-Pan American in a four set match. UVU was able to take control early in the first two sets, the gap in the lead eventually resulted in the Wolverines winning the sets 25-14 and 25-17.

UTPA was able to get an early advantage in the third set and locked it down  at 25-21.  In the fourth set, UTPA’s attack errors opened the door for UVU to take the lead after a 4-4 tie, ultimately UVU took the set 25-18.

Broadbent put up 23 kills and 11 digs, Manwill gave 10 kills and 15 digs while Jones added 10 digs and Fa’alogo gave 29 assists for the Wolverines.

On Oct. 17 the Wolverines began a two game road trip starting with Idaho State. UVU took sets two, three and five giving them the match 3-1. ISU barely took set one away from UVU winning 25-23 and the fourth set was decided near the end as ISU capitalized on UVU’s attack errors.

Broadbent put down 25 kills while Manwill added 11 and Nish added 10.  Fa’alogo gave a career high 58 assists and ten digs while Jones added 20 digs.

UVU then traveled to SUU on Oct. 20 and swept them 3-0.  Manwill had 17 kills making her the new all-time leader in school history with a total of 1,410 career kills.  Broadbent added eight kills and seven digs, Fa’alogo gave 32 assists, five kills and eight digs, Jones and Kathleen Stevens added 11 and nine digs for the Wolverines.
