Former Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush undergoes surgery

New Orleans Saints running back and former USC standout Reggie Bush underwent knee surgery after being placed on injured reserve in mid-December. Bush is expected to be ready for minicamp in June after several months of rehabilitation. The original diagnosis was a sprained medial collateral ligament, which usually doesn’t require surgery. However, the Saints confirmed that Bush did indeed have the surgery.

Underclassmen declare for NFL draft

The exodus from college to the pros continues as two of Georgia’s standout underclassmen announced they would be leaving school early to enter the NFL draft. The Bulldogs’ quarterback Matthew Stafford is expected to be the first selection in April’s draft. His teammate Knowshon Moreno is also expected to make the jump. Moreno led the SEC in rushing while Stafford led the conference in passing.
