Local percussive dance teams will unite in an explosion of rhythmic stomping at the Covey Center this Saturday. Tap, clog, and Irish dance companies will all perform at the event, showcasing rapid-fire footwork and thrilling man-made rhythms.

One of the featured groups is Foot Poetry, a recently-formed tap dance ensemble directed by Colleen West. You can expect a diverse show from Foot Poetry, with music ranging from jazz to techno and dancers aged from pre-teen to parenthood.

Local nationally-recognized tap companies Rocky Mountain Express Cloggers, under the direction of Greg Tucker, Extreme Rhythm Cloggers, under the direction of Bethany Hulse, and High Performance Dance Studio, under the direction of Twilla Mann will also perform. The Shelley Irish Dance Company, directed by Tina Shelley, will represent a style of dance from the other side of the pond.
