Welcome to the real world, students. Time to think of what is next in life. The Oct. 30 Career Services Graduate Fair was one place students could learn about going forward in their academic life.
This was the second fair of its kind at UVU. Program Director of Career Services Sue Stephenson said, “It was a well-run event. There was great collaboration from Career Services and the Academic Advisors.”
Stephenson said that they were expecting 700 people to be in attendance at the fair this year. These students now know more about the possibilities available to them than the rest of the 27,000 student body does. Last year, the fair received about 600 interested students.
The fair had 84 programs represented from 50 intuitions across the nation. When asked what the representatives’ comments were for this fair, Stephenson said, “It was the most organized fair. The students were better prepared, looked better, and asked really good questions.”
UVU was the fourth stop for these representatives to make in a one-week tour. At the end of the tour, they had attended fairs at all of the major Utah universities, including Utah State University, University of Utah, Brigham Young University and Weber State.
The Graduate Fair was open to all students, and those in attendance were given information on the many programs that students can pursue after they receive their undergraduate degree. It is recommended that students look into graduate work as soon as they can. Now is the time to think of what is next in life.
