“Without it, more than half of us wouldn’t live here.”
-Luke Hickman, Life Writer
“It created the United States, it continues to create the United States, and it will continue to created the United States.”
Emma Lazarus said it best, via the Statue of Liberty,
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
Immigration in the US has spawned and cultivated a culture of variety.
Immigrants are some of the hardest working people in the country. I am in awe of hard working women that come to the United States with nothing, take that job at the mall food court and work hard to provide for their families. Whereas if some American kid had the job, they would do it half-ass. I admire immigrants and hope the US can make policies to encourage legal immigration, because immigration makes
America America. Period.
