Odyssey Dance Company brings its annual Halloween show to Provo

Are you ready for an electrifying show full of gripping adventures and wild moves? You’re in luck! Once again, the highly acclaimed Odyssey Dance Studio is having their “Thriller” Show Oct. 7-10, the perfect time for a wicked Halloween show.

This is the twelfth year of performing “Thriller” and it has been a crowd favorite. They are performing some classic favorites and also whipping out some new captivating creations. Not only is this show heavily looked forward to in this community every year, but all around the state. Odyssey has won many state-wide awards which include Best of State in dance for four years running and Best of State in all of the Arts and Entertainment in 2007.

The founder and the director of Odyssey, Darryl Yeager, has been a major driving talent behind the many successes of the studio. He won Best Choreographer this year. In a press release about the upcoming show, he said, “This show has become a phenomenon! Now in it’s twelfth year, it has grown tremendously in popularity, and we are busy performing the show throughout the year.”

Odyssey performers are definitely some of the most accomplished and artistic in the valley. Two of them, Matt Dorame and Thayne Jasperson, were finalists in the hit TV show So You Think You Can Dance and Brandon Bryant made it all the way to second place in season five. Governor Gary Herbert celebrated this success by naming August 20th Brandon Bryant Day in Utah. “Odyssey Dance Theatre has been an important and viable part of the arts and culture of the great state of Utah for the past 15 years,” said Governor Herbert.
