A word from the Administration
A new school year has arrived and I would like to welcome you to Utah Valley University and encourage you to get involved with the UVU Review.
By attending UVU, you will be receiving the best education possible and opportunities to get involved with clubs, intramurals, student government and my favorite: the UVU Review, the independent student newspaper on campus.
The reason for being at the university is to get an education and your first priority is your academic experience. However, I would like to invite you to come see what the student newspaper can offer you.
Any student at the university can be part of the student newspaper team. You can be a writer, designer, copy editor, video producer, photographer or editor, receiving training while you work. The experience from working with the newspaper will create life-long friends, internships and be a resume builder.
Some staff members are on scholarship and many have had a large portion of their education paid for by working for the newspaper.
The staff participates in college workshops around the country and network with newspaper staffs from major universities. The exciting part about the workshops is that advertising revenue from the newspaper pays for most of the expense.
Visit our office in SC220 and pick up an application or call David Newlin, Editor-in-Chief at 801-494-4500 or Emma Hunt, Managing Editor at 801-623-3882 for additional information.
