Police Beat Jan. 9

Taken from the police report as the officers wrote it:

 

12/19/11

 

12:26 p.m.

Disturbance in the computer lab involving a male who was upset about the lack of assistance from employees. The male was later contacted in another building and was advised his actions caused a disturbance. The male explained he had brain injury and was just needing assistance. He also stated he understood the complaint and that it would not happen again. No charges filed.

 

12/20/11

 

7:59 p.m.

I was at Mike’s Chevron and an employee approached and pointed out three males that smelt of marijuana. I approached the subjects, could smell what seemed to be marijuana. I interviewed all three and found nothing further.

 

12/22/11

 

5:33 p.m.

A school employee received some emails he felt were threatening in nature. Later there was done to the employee’s residence. This is being investigated by the local agency.

 

12/26/11

 

9:00 a.m.

An employee at UVU received an email from a former student. The student has been told in the past to stop all contact with the employee. The email was threatening in nature.

 

12/29/11

 

7:12 a.m.

I responded to College Dr. Wolverine Way, on a report that something was in the road. I arrived and determined that someone had moved the crosswalk sign in to the middle of the north bound lane. I removed the sign from the lane of travel and placed the signs back on to the side walk.

 

12/31/11

 

9:14 p.m.

While working the UVU New Years Eve Dance an individual was stopped for suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol due beer cans seen in his halfway open backpack. during the encounter alcohol was smelled on his breath and it was found that he was underage. He was cited for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and asked to leave campus.

 

1/3/12

9:29 a.m.

Officer was approached by grounds keeper regarding found parts of vehicle and

Damage to tree. Felony of a university utility vehicle and additional criminal mischief was found to have occurred.
