Wolverines get one win on the road

The game on Friday April 10 became the only victory of their trip to Colorado, an 8-7 victory. The Wolverines got the game off to a quick start scoring two runs in the top of the first inning.

UVU set out on a four-game road trip April 10-11 and came away with one win against Northern Colorado.

The Wolverines got the game off to a quick start scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Sophomore Megan Woodworth, senior Lauren Augino, and senior Magan Niemann started UVU off with three consecutive hits.

In the top of the third inning UVU brought home three more runs with junior Amber Sackett, senior Kylee Steadman, junior Cherylyn McGraw and freshman Amanda Perez all contributing with hits bringing their runs to five.

UNC scored four runs in the bottom of the third tying up the game. UVU answered back in the forth inning with Augino hitting her first home run of the season which brought the Wolverines up to six.

UNC then came into the fifth inning to score two more runs putting them on top with a 7-6 lead. In the top of the fifth Steadman answered back with her fourth home run of the season giving UVU the lead for the rest of the game.

Game two on April 10th UVU put up a fight and tried to stay ahead, but let the game slide losing 7-6 to Northern Colorado.

The next day UVU took on UNC for two more games which proved to be a rough battle for the Wolverines as they lost game one 13-5 in only five innings and then game two 9-8.

UVU will return home for a doubleheader Tuesday April 21 and take on another in-state rival Utah and then will play a double-header at BYU on Wednesday April 23.
