Scholar Athletes

Danny Moody and Chelsea Baker, a pair of track athletes, have been named the Utah Valley Scholar Athletes of the Month for February.
Baker, a freshman from South Jordan, Utah, maintains a 3.53 GPA while performing as one of the Wolverines’ top women’s sprinters on the track.
Baker was part of Utah Valley’s indoor record-setting medley team as she ran the 400-meter leg of the race. The medley team broke the previous school record by nearly 20 seconds on Feb. 9 in Pocatello, Idaho.
Moody, a junior Utah County native from Provo’s Timpview High School, holds a 3.93 GPA in community health education.
Moody is coming off an excellent indoor track season. In one meet hosted by Idaho State, Moody set personal records in the mile run of 4:16.34 and the 3000 meters at 15:13.

Hockey volunteers

The hockey season ended with a 7-3 win over BYU, but the need for interns and volunteers isn’t over. With the growing program headed to the offseason, the staff is busy preparing for next year, and there is plenty to do. There are plenty of opportunities to get school credit as an intern, work-study participant or volunteer while helping build Utah Valley hockey into one of the best programs in the state. Those interested in pursuing this opportunity can go to room SC 213B on March 25 at 4 p.m. For more information, you can contact Lisa Beaudry at [email protected], or you can go to the hockey team’s Web site, www.uvschockey.com
