Jazz deal Brewer

Just before the Feb. 18, trade deadline, the Utah Jazz sent shooting-guard Ronnie Brewer to the Memphis Grizzlies for a future first-round draft pick. This deal rids the Jazz of the remainder of Brewer’s contract and dips the team below the salary cap. While Boozer seemed to be the talk of much of the trade discussions this season, it turns out that he will remain with the Jazz for the remainder of the season.

McGrady to New York

In other trade-deadline moves, the Houston Rockets sent Tracy McGrady to the New York Knicks in a three-team deal. The Knicks will acquire McGrady and Sergio Rodriguez from Sacramento; the Rockets get Kevin Martin and Hilton Armstrong from Sacramento, and Jordan Hill and Jared Jeffries from New York. Houston will also have the option to swap first-round picks in the 2011 draft and the Rockets will get the Knicks first-round pick in 2012.
