Braves make offer to Damon

The Atlanta Braves have reportedly offered former Yankee outfielder Johnny Damon a one-year deal, but his agent Scott Boras has said he is seeing a two-year contract. There has also been reported interest in Damon from Tampa Bay and Detroit. The Braves have, according to Baseball America, the number-one prospect in Jason Heyward. The young rookie will have every opportunity to make the team and could prevent the Braves from engaging in a bidding war for the aging outfielder.

USA basketball team intact

The 2012 games in London are still several years away, but the USA has invited back several members from the gold medal-winning team in 2008. Back are Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer. The remainder of the roster includes several young stars such as Kevin Durant and Derrick Rose among others.
