Doxey named to 2010 ESPN Academic All-District 8 Second Team

OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University senior outside hitter Kayli Doxey was named to the 2010 ESPN Academic All-District Women’s Volleyball Region VIII Second Team on Thursday.

Doxey, from Gilbert, Ariz. (Gilbert HS), carries a 3.85 GPA in Exercise Science. This is the second consecutive year that she has received the honor, as she was named to the first team in 2009.

She is also the Wolverines’ (16-10) top offensive player ,as she leads her squad in kills (343), kills per set (3.57), points (389) and service aces (29) on the year. Doxey also recently became UVU’s all-time career kills leader with 1,521 during her four-year career in the green and white uniform. She also holds the records for the most kills per set with an average of 3.72 and the most points per set with an average of 4.23. Doxey is also the reigning Great West Conference Offensive Player of the Year and a career six-time GWC Player of the Week recipient, winning three of those this season.
