The lady Wolverines have eight more crucial conference matches to play this season.

Utah Valley volleyball is just over half way into their season and is 2-2 in conference play.

Last season UVU volleyball entered the post season GWC Tournament as the No. 2 seed with a conference regular season finish of 10-2. The lady Wolverines then went on to beat Chicago State 3-2 and Houston Baptist 3-2 on the same day, putting them into the GWC championship game against North Dakota.

North Dakota proved to be too much for them in ‘09 taking the championship game 3-1 over the Wolverines.

Before this season began the Wolverines were picked to finish second, but they are striving for first.

After a six-match winning streak in non-conference play, the team ran into some trouble early in conference play loosing their first two conference matches of the season to South Dakota and North Dakota.

The Wolverines will have a second chance to redeem themselves against South Dakota and North Dakota when they host them Oct. 28 and 30.

Last week the lady Wolverines brought themselves back in the game, sweeping conference opponent Chicago State in three sets.

This week they will resume GWC play against Texas-Pan American and Houston Baptist. Last season the Wolverines won five matches against those opponents, including their win over Houston Baptist during the GWC championships.
