Reading Time: < 1 minute

The UVU Symphony Band’s winter concert will be held at the Reagan Theatre on Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

The set list includes music written by Pulitizer Prize winner Vincent Persichetti,  Award-winning composer and director Leonard Bernstein, jazz pianist Dana Wilson, Broadway conductor Robert Russell Bennett and an original compostion by the band’s director, Dr. James Colonna.

Dr. Colonna will be dedicating the original composition, “Radha” to his wife, who has diligently supported him throughout his career. With this piece, he now feels that he finally has a way to pay her back for her years of encouragement by conducting in her honor live. The word Radha is Hindu name meaning “the goddess of creation signifying all things beautiful.”  Colonna anticipates that the piece will be the culmination of the evening.
