A career conference focusing on women in technology will be held at UVSC on Nov. 28.

The conference, "Worlds of Possibilities in Technology," is hosted by UVSC’s Women in Technology Student Organization and 1M Flash Technologies.

The convention will focus on technology careers where women make up only a small percentage of the industry. Both male and female students may attend.

"This conference provides an opportunity to network with men and women who are professionals and have been doing what they’re doing for a long time," said Karen Pool, the director of the Women in Technology Student Organization, in a UVSC press release. "It’s exciting because every one of them has such a great story to tell; they have a lot of good advice, and they will help people see more options available to them in the professional world."

The conference’s keynote speaker will be Chris Redgrave, general manager and vice president of Arrow 103.5 and KSL 1160 AM.

Also speaking will be Cornerstone Aviation CEO and co-founder Susan Horstman; Salt Lake Brief Therapy Center director Lynn Johnson; Gold Medallion Homes co-president Kristen Nilssen; and Lauri McPhillen, a UVSC career counselor.

The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Sorensen Student Center.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and costs $59 for the general public. Student registration is $15. The cost includes a continental breakfast and a networking luncheon.
