in Community Health where she was nominated for and won many awards. In 2002, Coach Richards was inducted into both the UVSC Athletics Hall of Fame and the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Hall of Fame.

Coach Richards brought a love of learning to her students and her influence will live on in the ideas and knowledge that she was able to impart. Education was her passion, whether on the court or in the classroom. She began her education earning an AS in Health at Long Beach City College in 1976. Her bachelor’s in Health Education soon followed from BYU in 1979. He quest for knowledge was a lifelong pursuit and she added a masters from BYU in Health Administration in 1990.

Athletics and education aside, nothing was more important than family. She is survived by her husband of over thirty years and
her beautiful children, Lauren, Kristen, Andrew and Taylor.
