Police Beat

Reading Time: 2 minutes Oct. 28 – DUI – UVU Police were at the Sinclair Gas station at 1200 S 800 W when they observed a intoxicated female get into a vehicle and drive off. UVU police initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and arrested a 44-year-old female for DUI. The female was booked into the Utah County Jail.

Oct. 28 – DUI – UVU Police were at the Sinclair Gas station at 1200 S 800 W when they observed a intoxicated female get into a vehicle and drive off. UVU police initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and arrested a 44-year-old female for DUI. The female was booked into the Utah County Jail.

Oct. 30 – Trespassing – A 21-year-old student was found in the Student Center after trespassing on certain areas on campus while ordered to stay away from a faculty member. The student was charged with trespassing, criminal mischief and resisting arrest. The student had also been ordered to stay away from University property until a Student Affairs hearing can be held.

Oct. 31 – Illegal Consumption/Possession of a Dangerous Weapon – A 20-year-old male was attempting to gain entry into the Halloween Dance at the McKay Events Center when Event Center security noticed the suspect was intoxicated. Event Center security found a pair of brass knuckles and turned the suspect over to UVU Police. The suspect was cited for illegal consumption and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Oct. 31 – Illegal Consumption/Open Container – UVU police were patrolling the parking lots during the Halloween Dance and located a vehicle with two passengers in it. Upon investigating of the suspicious vehicle, officers determined the passenger to be intoxicated and under the legal age. The 21-year-old driver had also been drinking. The female passenger was cited for illegal consumption. The driver was cited for open container.

Oct. 31 – Overdose – A 20-year-old female was found in the women’s restroom at the McKay Event Center during the Halloween Dance and appeared to be incoherent. UVU Police were notified of the female and further investigation determined she was under the influence of an unknown substance. The female was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment.
