Police Beat

In the interest of maintaining accuracy, all police beat entries are reproduced verbatim.

Feb. 2, 2011:
2:29 p.m. – I responded to a complaint of a man walking a dog in the Hall of Flags. No contact was made.
3:02 p.m. – Complaint of a man walking a dog in the LA building. No contact was made.
3:48 p.m. – I was told there was a possible intoxicated female behind Mike‘s Chevron. on Geneva road and University Parkway.Contact was made with the individual. The suspect was of age, officer released her to her boyfriend who stated that he would get her home safely.
4:04 p.m. -Complaint of a man walking a dog in the PE building. No contact was made.

Feb. 3, 2011:
10:13 a.m. – I responded to lot F that criminal mischief occurred in lot P. I that criminal mischief had occurred. I filed this report.
2:00 p.m. – I responded to SC first floor women’s restroom. I found criminal mischief had occurred. I filed this report.

Feb. 4, 2011:
12:20 a.m. – An employee of the school reported he thinks items might have been taken from the kitchen area of west campus. The employee stated that he was not sure and could not reach the individual over the area. Officer took an information report until it can be verified that the items are stolen or misplaced. No further action taken at this time.
9:44 p.m. – Made traffic stop for expired registration. During the stop it was found that the driver was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and transported to Utah County Jail.

Feb. 5, 2011:
12:50 a.m. – During a traffic stop I noticed that the passenger did not have her seatbelt on. I gathered her information and found that she had a warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and transported to Utah County Jail.
1:59 a.m. – While on patrol I noticed a vehicle with its license plate light out. I initiated a traffic stop for the violation. During the stop I noticed the odor of alcohol and other signs of possible alcohol intoxication. Officer asked the driver to perform field sobriety tests. It was determined that the driver was not able to safely operate a vehicle due to his impairment. The vehicle was impounded.
9:44 a.m. – I responded to a male that had possibly torn a tendon in his right arm when lifting a computer component. When holding up a control box for the console in classroom EN112.

Feb. 6, 2011:
2:18 a.m. – Suspicious vehicle occupied by two people. Contact was made, identification gathered. Asked occupants to leave.

Feb. 7, 2011:
1:02 p.m. – I was contacted by an employee that had two students complain about an individual with a dog on campus again.
4:24 p.m. – Responded to the area of University Parkway and Main Street on a report of a possible sighting of one of the school’s missing golf carts. When I arrived on scene the golf cart was gone. I checked the area and filed this report. Nothing follows.
