Gyros at Greek-n-Go

Reading Time: 2 minutes

A couple of years ago I had a gyro at a street vender in New York city. My initial thought was that I did not like it and I would probably never go to a restaurant/street vender that specialized in gyros again.

For those of you who do not know what a gyro is it “is a Greek dish of meat roasted on a vertical spit and usually served in a pita bread with tomato, onion, and tzatziki sauce.” A couple weeks ago one of my friends suggested going to this stationary food truck named Greek-n-Go located in Provo. Their primary food: Gyros. I was willing to try it mostly because my friend really wanted to go.

I ordered an original gyro but they also have a chicken gyro option as well. Greek-n-Go also serves kebabs, salad, some side dishes and some dessert options. The size of the gyro was comfortably filling and definitely tasty.  The price was decent costing me $4 for one original gyro. Most of the options at Greek-n-Go are pretty reasonable considering the most expensive option on the menu is $9.

The people who served my friend and I were very friendly and there was roughly a five minute wait for both my food and my friends. Even though my friend and I were the only ones there at the time, the food was delivered to us quite fast. The atmosphere of Greek-n-Go is really relaxed and even though they are served out of a food truck they have a few tables and chairs outside for customers to use. Greek-n-Go has completely changed my view on the gyro and I will definitely be coming back hungry for more original gyros and to try some other options on their menu as well.

Tips for people who are interested in going to Greek-n-Go: 1) Try the original gyro 2) Sit outside on the chairs and tables provided for you 3) Enjoy your  gyro.
