Metalfest in Sandy
Reading Time: 2 minutes Starting this Friday, the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy will showcase hundreds of new 2009-model vehicles. As well as alternative fuel vehicles, classics, and exotic cars at the 2009 Utah International Auto Expo. Domestic and Import Manufacturers from Pontiac to Porsche will be represented at the expo, which continues until Jan.
Starting this Friday, the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy will showcase hundreds of new 2009-model vehicles. As well as alternative fuel vehicles, classics, and exotic cars at the 2009 Utah International Auto Expo.
Domestic and Import Manufacturers from Pontiac to Porsche will be represented at the expo, which continues until Jan. 19. Almost forty new or redesigned 2009 models will be on display.
The expo will also showcase five pre-production 2010 cars: the Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang, Ford Fusion/Hybrid, Lincoln MKZ, and Mercury Milan Hybrid.
Eleven manufacturers are displaying alternative-fuel vehicles. The expo will focus on environmentally friendly cars, leading attendees to them with a trail of green arrows on the ground.
Ardell Brown’s classic car collection will be featured at the expo. Brown, a retired recreational vehicle businessman, has a world-class collection of over 150 vehicles, including a 1912 Ford Model T and a 1969 American LaFrance Fire Truck. “I am always looking for the cars people like to look at, that is the fun part,” said Brown, who will be at the expo to answer questions.
Most vehicles will be unlocked, and visitors are welcome to test them out.
On Friday, Jan. 16, card-carrying college students can utilize a two-for-one ticket.This offer is not valid on any of the expo’s other dates.
On Sunday, Jan. 18 all children 12 and younger will be admitted for free when accompanied by a paying adult. On the same day at noon and 2 p.m., Ronald McDonald will make an appearance, performing his musical stage show A Friendship Adventure With Ronald.
