G, widely known for its uncomplicated, mysterious sign on Geneva Road near Center Street in Orem, is home to UVU student Guillermo Cruz. The establishment, which is set up as a cozy single-serving buffet style restaurant, is also Cruz’s base camp for a catering and personal chef service.

G is most useful to students as a restaurant. They serve lunch on Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu, which consists of hand-made rolls, salad, one or two forms of vegetables or starches, and a meat or pasta dish, changes daily. This unique eating experience gives the diner a variety of options, without a long over-stimulating menu to read over.

For example, on the week of Feb. 9-13, dishes as varied as Italian lasagna with steamed vegetables (on Tuesday) to cuban roast beef with rice pilaf (Friday) to barbecue chicken with scalloped potatoes (Monday) were served.

To see the menu ahead of time, you can sign up for weekly e-mail updates at the front desk of the restaurant or visit www.PersonalChefG.com

On Feb. 9, G also opened its doors to those who want an affordable breakfast. Instead of offering only one dish, breakfast is made to order.

Each breakfast comes with an entree and one side. For an entree you can choose from traditional american eggs with a breakfast meat, eggs benedict, huevos rancheros, or a breakfast omelette. Sides include pancakes, hash browns, french toast, red potatoes, or waffles.

The restaurant is also open to corporate or personal events. Cruz is available to help plan and organize the cuisine for any booked event. The restaurant can hold up to 46 people.

If you’re planning an event elsewhere, Cruz offers a catering service, serving groups of 15 to 3,000 people. Clients can choose from among the echelons of food served, from finger food to full-course meals either in or outdoors.

You can also book Cruz as a personal chef. He can travel to your home or business to cook for a family or corporate event at any time of day. When booking Cruz as a personal chef you also get to choose a classy or casual meal.
