For most people, Halloween is a night where they dress up and have a party. For the Utah Valley University Women’s Soccer team, it is a night where they have a chance to become the regular season champions of the Western Athletic Conference Saturday. WSOC vs Seattle U 9-26-15-5766
The Wolverines, who are currently 7-1-1 with 22 points, take on the Seattle Redhawks, who are 7-0-2 with 23 points, for the WAC regular season title on Saturday night.
If UVU beats Seattle, they will be crowned the champions of the regular season of the WAC and be the number one seed going into the conference tournament.
If the Wolverines lose or tie, the Redhawks will repeat as victors of the WAC regular season.
The Wolverines face a tall task as they have to slow down Julia Moravec who has scored nine goals in conference play and Karli White who has scored eight goals.  Another big part of the task is the fact that UVU is still looking for their first win against the Redhawks.  The Redhawks hold an 8-0-1 record over the Wolverines in the series dating back to 2008.  However, the Wolverines managed to play to a 1-1 tie with the Redhawks back on September 26 at Clyde Field. The Seattle defense is also no slouch as it leads the conference in shutouts with eleven.  WSOC vs Seattle U 9-26-15-5760
The Wolverines have had a balanced attack all year as they lead the conference in goals scored per game with 2.39 and will need that aggressive approach to stay with the Redhawk defense that only allowed 0.71 goals per game. They will rely on Kasandra Anderson, Sheridan Fox, and Jamie Brown to continue to be at their scoring best when they play at Championship Field in Seattle on Halloween.  Kick off is set for 8 p.m. MST.
