The NCAA Division I Men’s and Woman’s Track & Field Committee announced the list of athletes that will be competing in the Track & Field Preliminaries and  those who made it into the Finals for the Decathlon and the Heptathlon.

The star of the WAC Championships that took place on Hal Wing Field last week, Michael McPherson, is going to the Finals in the Decathlon. Michael is currently ranked 20th.

The Wolverines are taking six athletes to the Preliminaries this year. They are: Brooke Hodson-Davies in the 3000 meter Steeplechase, currently ranked 40; Trace Norris in the 3000 meter Steeplechase, currently ranked 40; Kyler Sprague in the 400 meter Hurdles, currently ranked 38; Ryle Williams in the High Jump, currently ranked 16; Scott Moak in the High Jump, currently ranked 46; Michael McPherson in the Long Jump, currently ranked 41.

These six student athletes consist of the most that UVU Track & Field has sent to the NCAA Preliminaries since 2010. Last year the Wolverines were represented by five athletes.

The Preliminaries will be hosted in Fayetteville, Arkansas on May 29 – 31. The Finals will be hosted in Eugene, Oregon on June 11 – 14.
