This past weekend had the Utah Valley University men’s golf team competing in the Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic. The tournament wrapped up play on Sunday and showed the Wolverines three-round final score to be 893 (+41) and earned 12th place over all.

The Wolverines were lead by Preston Richards as he finished in a tie for 29th place. On Sunday Richards carded five birdies and shot a final round of 74 (+3). Added to that he shot a 71 (E) in the first round and a 74 (+3) in the second.

Other UVU athletes who competed in the tournament were senior Mike Dart who took 52nd, sophomore J.T. Timmons who tied for 56th, freshman Blair Bursey placed 65th, and Ariel Elftman-Hanson who rounds out those who scored for Utah Valley by taking 66th.

The gentlemen Wolverines will next compete in the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George, Utah. That event won’t be taking place until February 9-10 so the golf team will be enjoying a break for the winter.
