Utah County construction update Jan. 27-Feb. 2

Reading Time: < 1 minute

With icy winds bearing down, UDOT employees continue to labor throughout the county. Areas of specific concern for drivers are as follows:

  • University Parkway
  • Orem 1600 N
  • Orem 800 N
  • Orem 400 N
  • U.S. 6 Spanish Fork

The southbound on-ramp to I-15 from University Parkway will be closed for two nights so that workers can install a storm drain. The closures are scheduled Jan. 27-28, 10:00 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. Alternate routes to I-15 using Geneva Road and State Street are suggested.

Another storm drain installation will cause a night-time closure on Orem 1600 North at I-15. The closure is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 27, 10:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

The northbound I-15 off-ramp at Orem 800 North will be closed Friday, Jan. 27, from 10:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. for survey work. Further work will be done at this interchange Saturday, Jan. 28, from 10:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. Reconfiguring the travel lanes and setting up the new traffic signal system to match the new configuration will cause complete closure of 800 North from 800 West to Geneva Road.

Bridge demolition at 400 North in Orem will cause closures at I-15 for four nights. First on Jan. 27, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., then Jan. 29, 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and finally Jan. 30-31, 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Drivers are encouraged to use Geneva Road to access 800 North and 1600 North as east-west alternates.

Ramp excavation and grading will cause nightly closure of U.S. 6 through Spanish Fork at Main Street from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2, 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. S.R. 198 to Benjamin interchange and S.R. 77 are suggested alternates.
