There are 32,670 students at the newly accredited Utah Valley University and when the accreditation board came to talk to students about their experience, not even one percent showed up.

On Nov. 3, The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities met with 22 students in the library auditorium. It was an open forum discussion with the committee asking questions to get a sense for the student’s feelings about the campus.

Diane Taylor, a professor from Alaska, is over students standards on the committee of eight professors from the Northwest and she was looking for student issues from academics to activities.

The questions brought up in the meeting ranged from on-campus housing, adjunct teaching, non-traditional students and what improvements could be made.

Most of the students wanted an improvement in parking, a more balanced work load across classes and better preparation for graduate school. Students were pleased with the accessibility of faculty and the assistance of advisors.
