If you’re looking for a club to join in the fall, then look no further than the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. In 2009, Kappa Sigma established a branch, or “colony”, on UVU Campus and has continued to grow since.

The Kappa Sigma Fraternity is a social group for young men to interact and support each other and form lasting personal and professional relationships.

At the heart of Kappa Sigma Fraternity are the Four Pillars which act as guidelines a they strive for excellence in scholarship, leadership, fellowship and service.

“Honestly, our main goal and mission statement is to create a tight-knit, well- functioning and organized group of gentlemen who are ready to take on the obstacles everyone faces after college,” Kappa Sigma brother Bektur Abdrisaev said. “[they] carry the ideals of fraternal bonds and courtesy into not only their careers, but into every aspect of their lives.”

Kappa Sigma Fraternity was founded on Dec. 10, 1869. Today, the fraternity boasts a rich and diverse membership, with over 280,000 members worldwide. Notable members include actor Robert Redford, former senator Robert Dole, and founder of CNN Ted Turner.

The fraternity offers many resources to its members, including weekly tutoring, experience in business management, event and fundraiser planning and networking opportunities with not only fellow fraternity members on campus, but to students across the world.

“Most alumni members are in management positions,” Abdrisaev said. “[they} are always willing to offer collegiate members opportunities in entry level positions in almost any job market, such as accounting and consulting.”

Kappa Sigma also promotes an environment of academic excellence and community service. All members are expected to adhere to strict academic standards. Members are also required to give 25 hours of service and are encouraged to give more.

The Kappa Sigma only induct young men who strive to be well-behaved and responsible members of society. The club has absolutely no tolerance for alcohol and substance abuse, social misconduct, larceny, and other similar crimes.
