UVU lands 5 players on GWC volleyball teams

OREM, Utah – The Utah Valley University volleyball team landed five players on the Great West Conference teams released Friday, led by senior outside hitter Kayli Doxey (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert HS), who was named to the first team for the second straight year.

Behind Doxey, who was UVU’s lone member on the first team, seniors Kathleen Stevens (Lafayette, Calif./Campolindo HS) and Dani Robison (Orem, Utah/Orem HS), junior Chelsey Heaps (Morgan, Utah/Morgan HS) and freshman Brookelyn Campbell (Gilbert, Ariz./Mesquite HS) received second-team honors.

Campbell also was named to the GWC All-Newcomer team.

North Dakota’s Erin Joki was named player of the year, while teammate Erin Krueger was named the setter of the year and freshman of the year. Coach Ashley Hardee was named coach of the year.

Joining Doxey on the first team were Houston Baptist’s Isis Gardner, South Dakota’s Kristin Kritenbrink and North Dakota’s Joki, Krueger, Annika Smed and Devin Trefz.
