Jazz roster looking familiar

This off-season has been one of the most decisive in team history for the Utah Jazz. Three of the Jazz’s main contributors faced opt-out clauses in their contracts this summer. Two-time All Star power forward Carlos Boozer, former All Star Mehmet Okur and deep threat Kyle Korver, each had the option to forgo the final year of their respective contracts.

As the June 30th, deadline came and passed for the players to make their decision whether to opt out or not, all three decided to finish out their contracts and play another season in Utah. This could put the Jazz in financial trouble, as they still want to resign reserve power forward and budding star Paul Millsap. Doing so will most likely push the Jazz payroll over the salary cap and force the team to pay a penalty.
