Top songs about food

Seeing as how we all need food to live, it only makes sense that now and then we sing about it.

While some bands like Cake, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Meat Loaf, Peaches, The Cranberries and Korn seem to like food enough that they name themselves after it, the usual route is to simply write a song.

Some of the more popular titles include:

‘Cheeseburger in Paradise’ by Jimmy Buffet

‘I Want Candy’ by Bow Wow Wow

‘Savoy Truffle’ by The Beatles

‘Lunch Lady Land’ by Adam Sandler

‘Peaches and Cream’ by Beck

‘Gin And Juice’ by Snoop Doggy Dogg

‘Mayonaise’ by Smashing Pumpkins

“I’ve Got A Lovely Bunch of Coconuts” by Freddy Martin

Sugar also seems to be a popular theme with numerous hits:

“Brown Sugar” by The Rolling Stones

‘Pour Some Sugar on Me’ by Def Leppard

‘Sugar Sugar’ by The Archies

Sometimes, however, there are some songs, which combine two of the better things in life: food and sex. These songs on the surface may be about food, but when you listen to the lyrics, the double entendres start popping out:

“Cherry Pie” by Warrant

“Sex and Candy” by Marcy Playground

‘Milkshake’ by Kelis

The unrivaled king of food songs, however, is Weird Al Yankovic with an entire album devoted to food, including Fat, Eat It, I Love Rocky Road, and The White Stuff.

The only thing better than listening to songs about food may be to eat food, which, luckily, most people do numerous times a day.
