Utah County construction update Feb. 10-16

Reading Time: 2 minutes

While citizens of Utah County celebrate love throughout the week surrounding Valentine’s Day, UDOT crews will remain hard at work. Areas drivers should be aware of include the following:

  • Sandhill Road
  • Geneva Road
  • Orem Center Street, 400 South, 800 North
  • American Fork Exits
  • Spanish Fork / U.S. 6

Drivers will be limited to one lane both northbound and southbound on Sandhill Road at University Parkway. Restrictions will begin as early as Monday, Feb. 13, and are expected to last through mid-March. To avoid congestion, drivers are encouraged to use 400 West to cross University Parkway.

Bridge work will cause a closure on Geneva Road Saturday, Feb. 11, from 10:00 p.m. to 11:30 a.m. Crews will be putting concrete in for the new bridge columns. Alternate routes include Orem 1600 North to Lindon 400 West and State Street.

Traffic lanes on Orem Center Street underneath I-15 will be shifted from the south side to the north side. To accommodate the shift, crews will shut down east-west lanes the night of Saturday, Feb. 11, starting at 10:00 p.m. until as late as 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12. Girder placement will necessitate closure of Orem 400 South, schedule for the nights of Feb. 15-17, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Drivers are encouraged to use Orem Center Street or University Parkway for east-west travel. Drainage work will cause closure of the 800 North ramps next weekend, as early as Friday night, Feb. 17. Be sure to check back next weeks for updates on that project.

Overhead sign installation will cause crews to shut down American Fork Northbound off-ramps. First will be Main Street Northbound off-ramp, Feb. 14-16, followed by 500 East Feb. 16-17. Nightly closures on the dates listed will last from 9:00 p.m. until 5:30 a.m.

Sign installations and traffic lane shifting will cause nightly closures of the southbound U.S. 6 off-ramp at Spanish Fork from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Drivers can use Springville 400 South as an alternative.
