As part of Ethics Week, the university will host three visiting experts in the field of judicial ethics on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

The visiting experts are Victoria “Tori” Henley, executive director of the California Commission on Judicial Performance; Randall “Randy” Roybal, executive director of the New Mexico Judicial Standards Commission and Colin Winchester, executive director of the Utah Judicial Conduct Commission.

“The job of these commissions is to hold judges accountable,” said Elaine Englehardt, distinguished professor of ethics. “The commissions look into things like bribery, ex parte communication and judges behaving in an undistinguished manner.”

The discussion will consist of a 12-minute presentation from each of the experts, followed by audience questions and comments. The discussion will be moderated by Englehardt and will be held in LI 120 from 8:30a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
