For $41 each way, Go Green Shuttle, a new shuttle service, takes UVU students to Dixie Campus. Not only does it allow students to leave their cars at home, but the use of compressed natural gas makes this source of transportation better for the environment.
The shuttles operate Monday through Saturday, making stops southbound in Provo, Fillmore and Cedar City’s SUU campus.

“Many students are excited because they have a girlfriend or boyfriend at another college and this is a cheap way to go visit,” explained Go Green Shuttle owner, Scott Duffin. Go Green Shuttles depart Wolverine’s campus stop (Sandhill Road and Campus Drive), Monday through Saturday, at 8:40 a.m. and arrive at St. George’s Dixie Campus at 1 p.m. Students heading northbound depart St. George at 2 p.m. and arrive in Orem at 6:20 p.m.

“Our stops tie into local transit systems, and we accommodate people who want to bring their bikes, so we can encourage people to ‘go green’ all the way to where they need to go,” said Duffin. “Students sleep, read, work on their laptops, text friends, and find that they enjoy not having to worry about driving in bad weather. They can kick back and relax.”

At $41 each way, Go Green Shuttle is less expensive than many of the other alternative ways to travel to St. George. For one-way travel, driving yourself usually averages out to $57 plus wear and tear, Greyhound is roughly $63 and a Delta flight is around $166.

Go Green Shuttles will accommodate two bags and a carry-on per person. Bikes are allowed, but no pets. Children eight years of age and older may take the shuttle unaccompanied by an adult, and children under the age of eight must be accompanied by an adult. The adult must provide a car seat for the child. Students can find more information or book online at www.igogreenshuttle.com or by calling 1-888-99-Go-Green (1-888-994-6473).
