NEW PLAY PROJECT HOLDS AUCTION

Reading Time: < 1 minute

In hopes of filling their coffers before the 2010 season begins, New Play Project is hosting an auction on July 5.

The auction intends to not only raise funds for the Project, but to raise visibility for local businesses. The goods and services sold in the auction are all donated by organizations within the community. Auctioned items include gift certificates and merchandise.

The auction will be both silent and live. The silent portion of the auction will begin in the morning and last all day, attracting crowds from nearby Freedom Festival events.

In the evening before fireworks begin there will be a live auction, where the emcee will give a short description and endorsement of each business before pawning its wares.

Those present at the auction are welcome to watch Provo City’s fireworks show from the grounds of the Provo Theater.

New Play Project is a young non-profit theater company. According to their website they are “committed to producing values-driven works for the Mormon audience and to help aspiring playwrights, actors and directors launch careers in theater.” The Project began in 2006, and has since produced more than 70 original plays.

If you miss the auction itself, you can still make a tax-deductable donation by contacting New Play Project at 801-494-3440 or [email protected]
