Internship and Career Fair

Reading Time: 2 minutes

In preparation for the Spring Career Fair the Career Services and Student Employment department at UVU kicked off a week of workshops to help students prepare to impress potential employers.

January 19-22, CSSE offered workshops to help students understand internships, create the optimal resume and learn interview techniques. Mock interviews were held to help students feel comfortable in an interview setting.

If you were unable to participate in the workshops you can always contact the department to schedule a session with your personal career advisor to discuss individual concerns. These services are offered free of charge specifically to help UVU students excel in the workplace.

If you weren’t aware of this amazing department located in the LC building, now is the time to get involved. CSSE can help you with any of your employment concerns while assisting you in a career planning path that best suits your goals.

Amber Collins is just one of the career advisors in the department and she encourages students to meet with a counselor in order to learn the techniques needed to wow potential employers. Collins encourages those who have already met with a counselor to spread the word to friends and classmates that may not be aware of the employment advisement available to them.

One major event sponsored by the department is the Spring Internship and Career Fair that will be held Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Grande Ballroom, located in the SC building. The Fair will host over 60 employers from local and national companies, and offers students the opportunity to directly meet with company recruiters.

Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to network and gain valuable information from potential employers. For more information and for a full list of companies attending the Career Fair contact CSSE, located in LC409, online at www.uvu.edu/csse or by phone at 801-863-6364.
