Odyssey Dance Theatre presents Thriller

This month the highly acclaimed Odyssey Dance Theatre Company is performing Thriller in five different locations in Utah. The annual event has a reputation for being electrifying and filled with gripping adventures and pop culture references.

Thriller has become a major hit in the 13 years since its creation. This year they are including classic favorites like Frankenstein, Thriller, The Curse Of The Mummy and Jason Jam, but are also adding some new captivating creations to the show.

The show is famous all around the state. Performance locations this year are Park City, Ogden, Provo, Salt Lake City and St. George. Odyssey has won many statewide awards for their performance quality.

This crowd favorite appeals to many different tastes. Thriller is riveting and intense, yet fun and humorous, and has many loyal fans.

The founder and the director of Odyssey, Derryl Yeager, has been a major driving talent behind the many successes of the studio. In 2009, Yeager earned the Best of State title for Best Choreographer.

“This show has become a phenomenon!” Yeager said in a press release. “Now in its 13th year, it has grown tremendously in popularity and we are busy performing the show throughout the entire month!”

Not only is the owner talented and driven, but so are Odyssey Dancers. Eldon Johnson, Odyssey’s associate director and principal dancer, won Best Individual Dancer for 2010 in Best of State. He and his colleagues tour nationally and internationally. They performed at the Beijing Summer Olympics and are usually a standing ovation act.
