Hold to the Wad

We live in a society people. And lately, contrary to popular consent, we have been doing just that, very well. However, only the true mavericks of society possess the clarity of vision to see in such a way. Take the overall mood of the general public for example. (1) comment

Let's talk about education. This education thing keeps us strong, aware, smart, and sharp to the point. Our education system and the subjects taught within have been critically analyzed, tested, reformed, reworked, so that all kinks are straightened out. It now functions so efficiently it's turning out the deepest of thinkers -- an elite class of humans ready to take on any intellectual challenge. (0) comments

Mike Thomas As the economy struggles, resorts around the nation are facing major setbacks, and with no immediate change on the horizon, employees are now faced with an untimely ultimatum: find a new job or lose your benefits. Tip your bellmen; they need it now more than ever. (0) comments

Gas prices, traffic, obesity, and parking problems are some of the things that Luke Stevenson doesn't have to deal with. Why? Because he commutes by bicycle. Other colleges and universities have made pushes to green up their campuses by getting their students on bikes. (0) comments

This holiday season promises to be the toughest for many families. Hundreds of thousands lost jobs in November, still more have had hours cut and responsibilities added. Living in a culture, which praises economic status as a measure of success, responsibility, and prestige puts a lot of pressure on people even when times aren't as tough. (1) comment

I have worked as a hostess, waitress, cook, bus boy (in my case bus girl) -- I've probably worked in every position a restaurant has to offer. I know how to flirt with the old men, I know how to get the little kids to smile, I can up-sell like no one's business, and most importantly, I have excellent people skills. (0) comments

Enough. Enough love, compassion, gratitude, peace, loaves and fishes, understanding, inclusiveness, graciousness, light, joy, miracles and abundance for all. And, perhaps because the gifts are offered so freely by one whose intentions are absolutely pure, we within our limited perception as spirits presently embodied, will accept these gifts which we have previously neglected to acknowledge. I was reading the latest issue of the paper and I was pleased to see something out of the ordinary in the sports section: humor. Editor-in-Chief Jack Waters wrote a piece about Ryan Toolson missing two free throws. The idea sounds average at best; however, Waters made me almost snort milk out my nose with his witty humor.
