Language students have always dreamed of having the opportunity to visit foreign lands to use their newly acquired skills with native speakers. UVSC has recently announced the establishment of a new study abroad program to Japan. This program has been established in order to better acquaint students with the culture of Japan by experiencing it first hand.
UVSC has grown substantially in the past few years, having added 5 new bachelor degree programs for Fall 2006 and another 5 for Fall 2007. In keeping with this tradition of growth, it has recently been announced that UVSC has confirmed that a new degree will be offered to its more than 23,000 students. On 28 January 2008, The Utah State Board of Regents approved a four year Bachelor Degree in dental hygiene.
On Jan. 31, 2008, UVSC was visited by members of a local newspaper known as “The Mormon Worker.”
When a year comes to an end and a new one begins, we tend to survey the past year’s accomplishments and failures. Looking back over 2007, we see that it has been a remarkable year for our beloved Utah Valley State College. From Senate Bill 70 and the Fulton challenge to new degrees and greater enrollment, UVSC has seen it’s fair share of triumphs.
