Chicago, Illinois – The Utah Valley University women’s soccer team was able to finish their weekend road trip unblemished as they beat Chicago State 7-1 on Sunday afternoon.
They had previously won against the University of Missouri Kansas City on Friday 1-0.
With today’s victory, the Wolverines move to 2-0-1 in WAC play and are tied with Cal State Bakersfield for first place in the conference. UVU is now 7-4-1 while the struggles continue for Chicago State as they remain winless in the year moving to 0-11.
The first half of the match was all Utah Valley as they scored four goals and shutout any attack that Chicago State could muster. Kali Stubbs had two goals in the first 14 minutes of the match.  Kasandra Anderson and Sheridan Fox helped the Wolverines to a 4-0 advantage just 19  minutes into the match.
The second half was more of the same as the Wolverines added three more. Chicago State added a late consolation goal from the penalty spot. Libby Weber scored two goals and Sydney Fitzpatrick scored the other Wolverine goal in the second half for the huge margin of victory.
Utah Valley’s next game is at home in Orem against New Mexico State on October 9th at 7 p.m. MT.
