Board of Trustees approves new autism center

The building of a new autism center was approved, June 25, by the UVU Board of Trustees. The center is expected to be built near the McKay Education Building. It will provide expanded treatment services and training opportunities to students and the community.
A recent study released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said 1 in 54 children in Utah were identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder. UVU currently provides support for students identified with ASD through the Passages program. The school also offers education and training through the Autism Studies program.
