On Friday afternoon the Utah Valley women’s soccer team faced off against Texas-Pan American  at the UTPA Soccer Track & Field Complex. The game ended in a 5-0 UVU win and marked the game as nothing less then Wolverine dominance.

The game kicked off with an exciting first half when Sheridan Fox started Utah Valley’s scoring in the 19th minute when she completed a pass from McKell Salmon in the box. Fox sent he ball into the left corner of the net for goal number one.

In only six minutes and five seconds after the first goal of the game, Kali Stubbs sent back a Kassandra Anderson rebound. The ball sailed into the net for the second Wolverine goal.

With an other fast turnaround, just 1:28 after Stubbs’ goal, Kim Stratford fired off a long shot from the sideline and put the ball square in the back of the net. The goal increased Utah Valley’s lead to 3-0 and remained there for the rest of the half.

Texas-Pan American had little chance to gain some footing as UVU kept up their stunning momentum in the back half of the match. Sydney Fitzpatrick added the fourth Wolverine goal in the 66th minute. She found a Stratford pass close to the net and slipped it past the diving keeper, Aubrie Coley, for the goal.

The Wolverine scoring frenzy was capped off when Taylor Kirk received a pass from Jamie Brown. The left side pass was easily redirected with a left foot and sent rocketing into the right corner of the goal. The final score of the game happened in the 82nd minute.

The lady Wolverines play their final road match of the season on Sunday, October 19. The team will face off against New Mexico State in Las Cruces. Opening kick is set for 1:00p.m. MT.
