Men’s Golf takes 10th

In the OGIO Utah Invitational the Utah Valley University’s men’s golf team finished in tenth over all. The two day event finished on Tuesday afternoon and had the Wolverines sporting only mediocre performances.

Santa Clara took the Invitational title by breaking even. They were followed by Seattle (+11), Pacific (+19), and Boise State (+30) taking 2nd-4th respectively. There was a three way tie for 5th with the teams earning a score of 31 over par. The 5th place finishers include UT Arlington, Arkansas-Little Rock, and Utah. The Wolverine’s in state rivals, Utah State (+34) and Southern Utah (+38), were the two other teams to finish ahead of UVU and there final score of 45 over par.

Out of the six athletes that UVU brought to the Invitational none made the top 20. Mike Dart came the closest to making the list as he tied for 31st with a score of 220. Ariel Elftman-Hanson came up next for the Wolverines as he tied for 33st with a score of 221. He was followed closely by J.T. Timmons and Perry Wright as they tied for 41st and trailed behind Elftman-Hanson by one point.

The gentlemen Wolverines now prepare for the Ka’anapli Collegiate Classes in Lahaina, Hawaii. The three-round tournament will start on November 7th.
