Gadgets galore last week at International CES

Las Vegas was transformed into a tech heaven last week as industry leaders gathered to unveil their latest gadgets at the annual International Consumer Electronics Show.

Among the innovations released was the Razer Edge, one of the first devices in tablet PC gaming technology, was awarded the Best of 2013, People’s Voice and Best of Show awards by CNET.

The Edge is fitted with a 10.1-inch high definition multi-touch display and NVIDIA GeForce graphics card with Optimus technology, offering users a vivid gaming experience. The device is powered by a third-generation Intel Core i5 processor, or an i7 with the Edge Pro model, and operates on Windows 8.

While NVIDIA’s release of Project Shield, also unveiled at CES, operates similarly as a mobile gaming device, gaming is the primary purpose of Project Shield, which is planned to be an Android device. With the Edge, users can use the device as a tablet or a PC as well as a portable gaming console.

Pricing of the Edge has been set at $999, the Edge Pro at $1,299, can be pre-ordered online and will be available in the spring.
