Maybe we would attend games if there were any sports besides basketball to watch. UVU did away with their hockey program which was probably the most popular mens sport on campus besides basketball. Season after season, students would pack the Peaks Ice Arena to attend games. They finally had legitemacy on campus until the hockey team's main sponsor and assistant coach was brutally murdered. So what does UVU do? Instead of rebuilding the program, they do away with it, just like the 120 year old Bunnell Pioneer home on campus. The rumor on campus was is that the real reason they did away with it is because the hockey team was stealing basketball fans away, go figure. Instead of trying to push the sport to NCAA DIV I status they did away with it. I can understand doing away with a program because it isn't very popular but that wasn't the case.....epic fail UVU, epic fail!
