Police Beat: March 14, 2011

Feb. 22:
5:21 a.m. – Unknown suspect(s) left messages on sidewalks in chalk. Closed.
10:20 a.m. – Officer responded to a report of marijuana left on a table on the fourth floor of the library. The substance was identified as a common weed and not marijuana. No action was taken.
10:22 p.m. – Officer responded to a possible suicide note left on a desk in the computer science building. Officer responded and took the note into custody.

Feb. 23:
12:52 p.m. – Officer received a report of a male in the hall of flags that had a white dog with him.

Feb. 24:
8:15 a.m. – Officer received information of a custodial employee that may have been under the influence while at work. He was confrontational when asked about his whereabouts.
11:57 a.m. – A student called reporting she had been asked not to come to class by her professors because of threats she had received from a non student. The student was referred to Judicial Affairs.

Feb. 28:
4:10 p.m. – Officer was contacted by a female reporting that a male student was on the verge of stalking her. That the male goes out of his way to off campus to contact her.

March 3:
A female student called and reported being harassed electronically. She said that she is getting vulgar messages on her phone. She claims they are being sent by the teacher. She would like an officer to meet with her and see the messages come through on her phone.

March 5:
9:38 p.m. – Officers received a call about a male who was knocking over street signs, and other items on 1200 south by the bus stop. The male also verbally assaulted some handicapped individuals on the bus prior to attacking the signs. The area was searched. Damaged signs were found, but no suspect.
