Wear pink and help others

It’s that time of year again when we see our athletic teams helping others.

For the last couple years, UVU Athletics has been a part of ‘Pink with a Purpose’ games to help others who are in need.

This year, the Utah Army National Guard, Wolverine Crossing and the Second Chance Foundation of Utah will be sponsoring these events and raising money for UVU softball player Jordahn Denny who was injured in a car accident in early May.

The first chance to be a part of a Pink with a Purpose game will be on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. when the UVU women’s volleyball team plays Weber State.

Donations can be made at the match and fans can wear pink to get into the game for free. The first 300 fans will receive a free T-shirt courtesy of the Utah Army National Guard.

On Saturday, Wolverine Crossing is sponsoring a car wash, which will be held at the RC Willey parking lot in Orem from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All proceeds will go to Denny.

Oct. 14 will be a second Pink with a Purpose game day as UVU soccer takes on North Dakota at 4:00 p.m.

Donations will also be accepted at the game and fans that wear pink will get in free. The Utah Army National guard will be giving out free T-shirts to the first 200 fans at this game as well.

If you would like to donate to this cause but can’t attend any of these events, UVU Athletics will be accepting donations by phone up until Oct. 21. You can donate by calling 801-863-8998 or visiting www.WolverineGreen.com for more ways to donate.
