Fire Arm Permit Class

Reading Time: < 1 minute

On Oct. 7 and 8 in the student center, the College Republicans will be hosting the Utah/ Multi-state concealed firearm permit class. The cost is $40 for club members and $45 for guests. The class is open to anyone wishing to obtain a concealed firearm permit or anyone wishing to learn more about the Second Amendment.

Nick Moyes, chapter president, said “We feel that this is one aspect of the Constitution that we can bring back to the forefront of people’s minds, reminding them that it is on the same plane as our Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press and that it should be treated as such.” He also feels that the Republican Party has compromised its principles and values in recent years and that as the new GOP youth movement, they are here to “ring a bell to bring the Republican Party back to the fundamental values the founding fathers originally intended when they so brilliantly shaped the foundation of our great nation.”

Those 18 and older wishing to attend can show up to SC 213b on either day and pay at the door. The class is from 6 p.m-10 p.m. and includes photos, fingerprints, notary applications and a reference book.
