The Utah Symphony and Utah Opera’s 6th annual Music Festival in Park City will finish with a bang through a collaboration with Elvis Costello. The singer has a versatile 30 year music career in rock, New Wave, country, punk, film and classical music.

Costello’s repertoire includes favorites “Pump It Up,” “Alison,” “Every Day I Write the Book” and “Watching the Detectives.” He will be accompanied by Steve Nieve on the keyboard and will rock the audience on the final day of the Music Festival.

Costello, an out of the ordinary talent, started performing as a child with his father and has worked with a variety of artists since the 70s. His most famous bands are The Attractions and The Imposters. He has collaborated with numerous artists such as Burt Bacharach, the Brodsky Quartet and Paul McCartney. Costello’s songs have also been recorded by a variety of artists including country megastar Johnny Cash, rocker Roy Orbison, blues singer Charles Brown and ska-rock group No Doubt.

His latest album, “Momofuko” was recorded with the Imposters and was released this past spring. Most likely there will be opportunities to buy some of his music at the festival for a reasonable price, according to the Utah Symphonies spokes person. Come rain or shine, bring a blanket, a picnic basket and your favorite friends for a cherished and memorable event.
